Some of you may have noticed a sudden influx of the undead in my gallery as of late. Call me an enabler of the undead all that you like, but this is for a good cause. For those who don't read my artist's comments, I've been involved in the International Zombie Month on deviantart. The goal is to turn May into the month of zombies, by flooding this site with ghouls, carcasses and the walking dead of all forms. For more information, check out the ringleader of this little apocalypse,
With school over, I'm just trying to keep myself busy. I can't allow my brain to get lazy and wander about. I'm experimenting with some new mediums, some new styles, and want to continue to branch out. I've still never touched oil painting, I want to work more on my digital painting skills, and I'm very curious to see where my latest excursion into gouache painting is going to go. If anyone happens to know anything about gouache painting, by the way, don't keep it a secret. Now I just gotta save up for some oil paints, a better tablet, and whatever the fall is going to cost me when I return to school for about 10 hours a day. I love my work.
Also, my most heartfelt thanks to everyone who's been visiting my gallery in the last month, and pretty much since I got onto this site. I am, of course, speaking about recently breaking the 10,000 pageview mark. Thanks so much to all of you. My worth as a human being is determined by YOU! Yay!
Also, though I'm loath to bring up any personal details in this journal thing, I just wanted to share something. My old family dog, Mike, was put down the other day. The news feels like it's still sinking in. He was with us for 15 years, never once aware of how big he actually was. He had bad eyes, bad arthritis and was probably half-mad, but he held on for years. I hadn't seen him for a long time when I got the news he was doing really badly, and I feel really bad I didn't get to pet him one last time and tell him he was a good boy. I'll miss you, Mike.
Take care, all. Go hug your pets.
